Sample of Argumentative Essay in favour of the Three Little Pigs
Sample of Argumentative Essay in favour of the Three Little PigsOkay, I've got samples of argumentative essay in favour of the three little pigs. Before we get into it, let me give you a little bit of background on these animals. Let's begin with the bit that seems to annoy the most people...the point that they're anthropomorphizing. I know many of you will be saying that this is just a manufactured controversy, and nothing more, but let me ask you this: why is it so hard to let go of the fact that the Little Red Hatter is a cartoon, and not someone who looks like her?To people who've seen the movie, they have no problem in putting the Little Red Hatter in front of a mirror and saying, 'look, that's Santa Clause'. They're not disturbed by the fact that the Little Red Hatter is somehow in the same room as Santa. But, for the rest of us, it's very difficult. It's extremely hard to have a cross over with reality. The other thing that bothers people is that this is about the Christmas sea son, and the image of the little pig is a symbol of, 'all our freedoms are being taken away, and we'll miss our best friend, and we have no free will to stand up for what we believe in anymore'. This image is reminiscent of the Big Brother of the TV series Big Brother. I've heard this said a lot, and, honestly, I don't think that it's necessarily true. Of course, I do believe that the opposite is also true. So, the sample of argumentative essay in favour of the three little pigs that I've got isn't really a big deal, because I do believe that the reverse is also true.Of course, the three little pigs of the movie were designed to represent 'the unbridled power of the state' - and they did so in a way that was striking and very anti-government. The little pigs were seen as the state corrupting its power and being intolerant. And, if the state itself tries to control everything, it becomes all the more intolerant. So, the subtext of the three little pigs' argumentative essay in favour of the three little pigs - is very close to this, but from a slightly different perspective. The three little pigs are about the Free-Will of the individual, Peter. Peter's individual freedom is under attack, because the state controls its citizens' lives through its bureaucracy. It makes no sense to say that individual freedom is under attack, when, in fact, the state controls every aspect of the individual's life.In fact, even free will can be controlled, and it's not very free - as we can see with robotic technologies, and Terminator 3. We see this clearly in human cloning, and artificial insemination, and so on. Is it any wonder that Peter is truly threatened by the Big Brother mentality, as he falls under the control of the State? I'm sure that I'm not the only one who feels this way.The state controls all aspects of the individual's life, and it certainly has control over free will, which is why we're seen to be the monsters. Why is it that we're always seen as controlling and intolerant, while the government has more free will? The three little pigs are saying, 'hey, wait a minute - you see, Santa Clause's not a big deal, and your free will is under attack, and you're being forced to allow the Big Brother to control your life', and this is why they're called 'The Three Little Pigs'. It's a chilling, scary, and factually accurate way to express our ideas about freedom. So, have a nice day.
